Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said that he will always stand by the leader of the Democratic People's Party, Milan Knežević.
"Today, the leader of the Democratic People's Party, and more importantly, the leader of the Serbian people, Milan Knežević, was arrested in Montenegro. He defended the will of the people expressed in the referendum. In difficult moments, I have always been and will be with my friends. Milan is that and I am proud of our friendship and I hope that he will soon be free," Vučić wrote on Instagram.
Knežević today arbitrarily entered a police "marquee", where he is still being held, following a police intervention in Botun, in which several residents of Zeta who oppose the construction of a wastewater treatment plant were arrested.
