The President of the Democratic People's Party (DNP), Milan Knežević, will schedule a session of the party's Presidency immediately after the New Year holidays and propose leaving the Government and the authorities in Podgorica, the DNP announced.
"Yesterday's action by over five hundred police officers against peaceful citizens of Botun who were only defending their right to a healthy life represents one of the darkest histories of Montenegrin society. Arresting minors, the elderly, and the president of the Municipality of Zeta is the latest stage of depravity by those who are supposed to represent the people, but they have already surpassed their predecessors and will be held criminally accountable for it at some point. We would like to say to all those who praised yesterday's shameful action that their conscience is unclean and that they have taken on corrupt obligations, which we will continue to expose in the coming months. The DNP stands with its people in principle and uncompromisingly, as it proved yesterday, and thanks everyone who supported us, and even more so those who remained silent. Or as Njegoš wrote: 'Honor and disgrace live forever!'" the statement reads.
