A member of the Democratic People's Party (DNP) Budva councilor club, Jovana Todorović, filed a criminal complaint today against the director of the Budva Parking Service, Dragana Pima (DPS), on suspicion of abusing her official position during yesterday's events in the town of Botun, Zeta municipality.
Todorović announced this at today's press conference.
"Budva Parking Service vehicles carried out repressive and inappropriate actions against citizens in Botun, which the DNP Budva Club considers not only illegal, but also politically motivated. We believe that such actions cannot be the result of the arbitrariness of individuals, but rather the consequence of a pre-arranged and coordinated activity. How is it possible for a public company from Budva to intervene in the territory of the Zeta municipality and torture the gathered citizens," Todorović stated.
She added that they specifically point out "suspicion of direct cooperation between Podgorica Mayor Saša Mujović and the government structures in Budva, which are led by political entities close to the DPS and SDP, as well as Nikola Jovanović (President of the Municipality of Budva)."
"This kind of cooperation, by all accounts, functions through mutual 'service' actions of institutions, to the detriment of citizens and the public interest," Todorović pointed out.
An additional reason for suspicion, as she stated, is the fact that in Budva, on the ground floor of the house of the former president of the Budva Municipality, Milo Božović, who is close to the majority in Budva, and which is currently located in Spuž, a luxury beauty salon with extremely expensive equipment has been opened, owned by the wife of the mayor of Podgorica, Saša Mujović.
"This information, in the context of the events in Botun, further strengthens the suspicion of the existence of a political-interest connection between Podgorica and Budva. Therefore, the question rightly arises whether, as the complainants claim, the price of the actions of Parking Servis Budva on the territory of the Municipality of Zeta, in Botun was actually 'paid in Budva', through agreements and arrangements between the Mayor of Podgorica and the current authorities in Budva. The DNP Budva Club demands that the competent authorities immediately investigate all allegations, determine possible responsibility and put an end to the practice in which institutions are used as a means of political calculations and intercity agreements. Citizens have the right to know who makes decisions, in whose interests and at what price," concluded Todorović.
