Mandić laid a wreath at the monument to the heroes of the Battle of Mojkovac

Mandić, among other things, said that the Battle of Mojkovac was inscribed in golden letters in history - "as the final chapter of an epic epoch of old Montenegro, but also as a vow to future generations that freedom is never a gift, but a responsibility."

The President of the Assembly, Andrija Mandić, today laid a wreath at the monument to the heroes of the Battle of Mojkovac, after which, as announced, he attended a ceremony marking the 110th anniversary of that historical event and the Day of the Mojkovac Municipality.

At the ceremony, Mandić said that it was an honor and privilege for him to be in Mojkovac again this year, "a city deeply rooted in the history of our people, a city whose name belongs not only to geography, but also to the very foundation of our national memory."

"This time we have gathered at a special moment - to celebrate together the Day of the Mojkovac Municipality, but also a great jubilee, 110 years since the Battle of Mojkovac, one of the most glorious, but also the most tragic moments of our history," Mandić emphasized.

He said that, before the ceremony, he laid wreaths at the monuments to Brigadier Miloš Dragišin Medenica and the heroes of the Battle of Mojkovac.

These, as he said, were not just acts of protocol, but a great bow to the sacrifice, courage and honor of "those who, in crucial moments in the history of that glorious Kingdom of Montenegro, knew what it meant to serve the fatherland and what the price of the face of our country and our people is."

Mandić, among other things, said that the Battle of Mojkovac was inscribed in golden letters in history - "as the final chapter of an epic epoch of old Montenegro, but also as a vow to future generations that freedom is never a gift, but a responsibility."

"Today, 110 years later, our obligation is different, but no less important. Today, we do not have to defend freedom with weapons, but with work, knowledge, unity and vision. The north of Montenegro, and especially Mojkovac, must once again become spaces of hope, survival and development," said Mandić.

He said that Mojkovac and northern Montenegro have something to offer to enter the European Union.

"And upright spines stand next to any medieval European city, knowing that our natural resources, cultural heritage, military glory, hardworking, diligent and honest people deserve a happy and rich life like they already have," added Mandić.

Mojkovac, as he stated, has historically known how to be a bastion "and protect us all when it was the hardest."

"Today is the time to move forward. With pride in the past, with responsibility in the present and with faith in the future. In that faith, I wish you a happy Municipality Day, may this great jubilee of 110 years since the Battle of Mojkovac be a happy one for us, with the wish that Mojkovac will continue to be a beacon of honor, freedom and hope - for our people, for our country, for all of us," concluded Mandić.
