Vučelić: The government is not a training ground for personal frustrations

The government cannot be a training ground for personal frustrations, and Montenegro is bigger than anyone's political games.

This was announced yesterday by CIVIS MP Maja Vučelić, commenting on the initiatives that the Democratic People's Party has submitted to the Government.

"The government platform 'Barometer 26', adopted without a single vote against, and even with the support of the DNP, clearly obliges all signatories to focus on unity and EU integration, while avoiding identity and other polarizing issues. The DNP's demands, along with their open admission that the platform conflicts with their program, directly render 'Barometer 26' meaningless and open the risk of a political crisis in the first days of 2026, which is crucial for the country's European future," Vukićević wrote on the X network.

He adds that at a time when the EU is showing readiness for enlargement, Montenegro does not have the luxury of losing focus.

"European integration, the rule of law and stability must remain above party ultimatums and political performances that produce divisions and blockades. Montenegro needs the unity of all who truly fight for vital state goals, and those who bluff and consciously slow down the European path must be clearly determined in time in accordance with state interests. The government is not a training ground for personal frustrations, and Montenegro is bigger than anyone's political games," said Vučelić.
