Minister of Foreign Affairs Ervin Ibrahimović assessed that relations between Montenegro and the United States of America (USA) have been further strengthened during the mandate of Ambassador Judy Rising Reinke.
As announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MVP), Ibrahimović received the Rising Rhinek on a farewell visit.
"On that occasion, Minister Ibrahimović expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Reinke for her dedicated and dedicated work during her diplomatic service in Podgorica, with best wishes for happiness and further success on a personal and professional level. He assessed that the interstate relations between Montenegro and the USA have been further strengthened during her mandate, with special emphasis on her personal contribution to strengthening institutions, as well as empowering youth and women in Montenegro," the statement said.
Ibrahimović, as stated, emphasized the high-quality and dynamic cooperation at all levels with the USA, confirming his commitment and openness to further strengthening ties and cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
"During the meeting, Ambassador Reinke's engagement in strengthening economic cooperation was particularly emphasized, including the relaunch of the Economic Dialogue between Montenegro and the USA, as well as the growing interest of American companies in investing in Montenegro. In this context, it was emphasized that the second High-Level Economic Dialogue between Montenegro and the USA was held at the end of October 2024 in Washington, when a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of economic cooperation was signed, with the aim of strengthening bilateral cooperation and expanding trade and investment exchange between the two countries," the MFA statement said.
As stated in the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, satisfaction was also expressed with the long-standing friendship between Montenegro and the USA, confirmed by the recent celebration of 120 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, based on common values, principles and ideas that shape the relations between the two countries.
"The US is recognized as a strategic partner, friend and ally of Montenegro, with relations further strengthened by cooperation within NATO. The role of the US as a promoter of peace and stability in the Western Balkans, as well as an important factor in resolving issues on a global scale, was also highlighted," the statement reads.
The government department added that it particularly emphasized the high appreciation of American support for the democratic and economic development of Montenegro, as well as support for the European future of Montenegro and the Western Balkan countries, which is of invaluable importance.
"The European Union remains the number one foreign policy priority for Montenegro, with the conviction that the achieved results will serve as a solid foundation for further strengthening cooperation," the statement concludes.
