The United States of America (USA) will continue to support Montenegro in strengthening its institutions and developing a democratic society, said US Ambassador Judy Rising Reinke.
As announced by the Ministry of Defense, Reinke said this during a farewell visit to that government department and a conversation with Minister Dragan Kapović.
Reinke said that it was a pleasure to witness Montenegro's progress in integration processes and its strong positioning in the international community.
"I expect that Montenegro will continue on the path of reforms in order to achieve its national strategic goals," said Reinke.
She said that the US will continue to support Montenegro in strengthening its institutions and further developing its democratic society.
It is stated that Krapović thanked Reinke for her contribution to strengthening overall relations between Montenegro and the US, emphasizing that her mandate encompassed a period of significant political and institutional changes in Montenegro, as well as major security challenges at the global level.
He pointed to Reinke's personal commitment to dialogue and cooperation as very important for the continuity of our quality relations at all levels.
"Reinke unequivocally supported Montenegro as an ally within NATO," said Krapović.
As he added, during her mandate, defense cooperation was improved and expanded through numerous joint activities and projects.
"Primarily in the field of training and advanced training of military personnel, modernization of the capacities of the defense system of Montenegro, and cooperation in the field of cyber defense," said Krapović.
He wished Reinke success in his future engagements and thanked him for his commitment to improving cooperation between Montenegro and the USA.
