Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said today that the authorities in Podgorica clearly did not like the behavior of the head of the Citizens' Service and president of Free Montenegro Vladislav Dajković and that is why they are removing him.
As reported by the Tanjug agency, he told reporters in Abu Dhabi, after the opening ceremony of Sustainability Week 2026.
Tanjug reports that when asked about the suspension of the head of the Citizens' Service in Podgorica and president of Free Montenegro Vladislav Dajković after the arrest of the president of the Democratic People's Party (DNP) Milan Knežević, Vučić said that the authorities in Podgorica obviously did not like Dajković's behavior and that is why they are removing him.
"I saw the statement of DNP Milan Knežević, who said that he wants the Serbian language, script and tricolor to be the main topics of discussion. We will see what the response of the authorities in Montenegro will be. I assume the same as the previous authorities of Milo Đukanović, only they will play with it, we are for, we are against, but we do not have a majority...", said Vučić.
Yesterday, Podgorica Mayor Saša Mujović made a decision to initiate disciplinary proceedings and a decision to suspend Dajković until the completion of those proceedings, due to suspicion that he committed a serious breach of official duty.
Dajković said at a press conference today that Free Montenegro is no longer part of the government in Podgorica, and that he was removed because he supported the Serbs in Zeta.
Mujović also confirmed to reporters today that he will dismiss Dajković if the Disciplinary Commission of the Government of Montenegro determines Dajković's responsibility.
