During the meeting between the President of the Capital City Assembly, Jelena Borovinić Bojović, and the Ambassador of China to Montenegro, Chen Xiufeng, it was assessed that the relations between Montenegro and China are based on mutual respect and cooperation.
This was announced today by the Capital City Assembly.
As stated in the statement, the meeting also assessed that there is mutual willingness for their further improvement in the coming period.
"The conversation focused on the possibilities of continuing cooperation in the field of culture and education. On that occasion, the President of the Assembly pointed to the contribution of the Confucius Institute in promoting cultural and educational exchange, emphasizing that the Capital City will support initiatives that contribute to the development of international cooperation and the exchange of knowledge," the statement said.
From the Capital City Assembly, Xiufeng expressed his satisfaction with his stay in Montenegro and emphasized that during his mandate he will be dedicated to improving cooperation with state institutions and local governments.
"He stated that the People's Republic of China sees Montenegro as an important partner in the Central and Eastern European region, and pointed to the potential of the Capital City of Podgorica for further development through the implementation of joint projects," the statement concluded.
