Professional Serbs must not be representatives of Serbs in Montenegro, said the president of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and one of the leaders of the European Alliance, Ivan Vujović.
"The log of revolution, barricades, talk of endangerment, manipulation of people and national sentiment, creation of chaos... Belgrade politics, like three and a half decades ago, is doing the same thing. The same pattern down to the smallest detail. Montenegrin society must learn lessons from the recent past so as not to be condemned to constantly repeating the same mistakes and misconceptions," he said.
He said that the Serbs in Montenegro "must be closest to every other citizen of this country," regardless of their national identity, "because they all share the fate of one and only homeland."
"Professional Serbs, those who act according to the principle - 'Vučić with an eye, them with a jump', must not be their political representatives, because whatever these pests and manipulators have gotten their hands on, they have destroyed," said Vujović.
He said that "good servants can be nothing but bad masters."
"Montenegro will easily find internal agreements as soon as it frees itself from the influence of toxic politics from its neighborhood, which has been destroying its own state and society, and everything around it, for decades," the statement reads.
