Montenegro, in moments of significantly increased global uncertainties, in which the positions of our country's key strategic allies, the United States of America and the European Union, are increasingly diverging, must further strengthen its focus on what is in its hands - social cohesion, stable institutions and trust among citizens, said President Jakov Milatović.
Such a focus, he said, implies a completely open and honest dialogue on all important issues, but also clear responsibility of all political actors.
"At this moment, there is no room for political stubbornness or for actions guided by narrow party or personal interests. The national interest must be above all else. Experience teaches us that Montenegro is strongest when it understands its own diversity as an advantage, not as a source of division. We are closest to each other, regardless of national, religious or linguistic affiliation, and this fact must be the starting point of every responsible policy," Milatović wrote on Iks.
He also emphasized that Montenegro is "our common home."
"Its stability and progress require serious work, consistency and a common goal. It is time to come together around that goal consistently and responsibly, aware that a stable state is built through long-term and thoughtful decisions," said the president.
