The government in Budva was founded on brutal deception of citizens, corruption and everything that was the methods of Milo Đukanović and his rule, announced the president of the Democratic People's Party (DNP) Milan Knežević.
The DNP statement states that the party has opened an office in Budva.
"The opening was also attended by representatives of coalition partners New Serbian Democracy (NSD) and the Socialist People's Party (SNP), as well as colleagues from the Civic Movement URA. The gathering sent strong and unambiguous messages that Budva must receive a government that will respect the will of the citizens and do away with political fraud and corruption," the statement reads.
Knežević said that the situation in Budva is the result of wrong and unfair policies.
"We all know that Budva deserves a better, more honest and just government. We all know that this government was founded on brutal deception of citizens, on corruption and the methods that characterized the previous system of government," said Knežević.
He added that it is the responsibility of political actors to meet the expectations of citizens and not allow the trading of electoral will.
"We all know that this government was founded on brutal deception of citizens, on corruption and all that was the method of Milo Đukanović and his rule. It is up to us to do everything we can to ensure that the electoral will of the citizens of Budva is respected and that in the next elections we confirm what the citizens' expectations were from 2020," said Knežević, emphasizing that the DNP will not give up the fight for true change.
The President of the Municipal Board of the DNP in Budva, Jovan Gregović, said that the new office represents the base of the political struggle and victories to come.
"From these offices we are heading towards stronger, better and greater victories. Budva has the strength, people and energy to free itself from bad policies," said Gregović.
DNP spokesperson Jovana Todorović thanked those present for their support, emphasizing that in the coming period they will strive to continue the fight together against, as she said, the scourge that has befallen Budva as a city.
"The task before us is to return Budva to its rightful place. We know what this city was and what it should be, and we commit to fighting for it with all available means," Todorović stressed.
The statement states that the DNP sent a clear message from the opening of the office that, together with its partners and the citizens of Budva, it will continue its uncompromising fight against corruption, political fraud and injustice, until Budva receives the government it deserves.
