The Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) in Bijelo Polje has rejected almost all of the Bosniak Party's (BS) demands, except for the one about forming the "Avdo Međedović" public institution and the request that the party be given the position of director of that public institution, "Vijesti" has learned from reliable sources.
The Bosniak Party presented the DPS with a series of political and personnel demands as a condition for continued support for the current local government in Bijelo Polje.
The session of the Bijelo Polje Municipal Assembly, at which the adoption of the budget was expected at the end of last year, was not held due to the boycott of BS, which expressed dissatisfaction with the coalition partner, after which temporary funding was introduced.
According to earlier sources from BS, the party is seeking to take over key functions in municipal administration and public institutions, as well as initiate procedures regarding issues that have both strong political and identity significance for the party.
According to these sources, BS's demands relate to the position of Mayor of the Municipality, the position of Secretary of the Secretariat for Investments and Construction, the position of Director of the Spatial Planning Agency, the establishment of a new public institution and the appointment of the director of the Public Institution "Avdo Međedović", as well as the position of President of the Board of Directors of a sports club.
They also demand the return of ownership of the Hadžidanuša Mosque to the Islamic Community.
If the local DPS does not accept their demands, BS will, as previously announced, look for partners among government officials at the state level.
