The first session of the Main Board (GB) of the People's Trust Movement (PNP) of Montenegro was held, announced the movement, whose founder and leader is Dragoslav Dado Šćekić, which has 85 members, of which over 90 percent are highly educated, and more than 50 percent are young people and women.
The PNP said that this was a significant step in further organizational and political strengthening of the Movement.
"The Main Board consists of members of municipal and initiative committees from all over Montenegro, which confirms the broad territorial representation and growing support for the Movement of People's Trust. Important conclusions were reached at the session and further directions of action were defined. The Political Council of the Movement was elected, while teams were formed that will prepare the election of the presidents of the Youth Council and the Women's Council, as well as activities to form municipal committees throughout Montenegro," the movement said in a statement.
It is emphasized that the structure of the GO confirms the clear commitment of the PNP to including youth, women and educated people in decision-making processes.
"In their discussions, the members of the Main Board concluded that the political situation in Montenegro is not good, and that citizens' trust in political entities is at a historic low. This is indicated by the previous parliamentary elections, the increasing abstention of voters, as well as the trend of increasing abstention confirmed by the latest public opinion polls. As a cause of this situation, the members of the Main Board stated that the changes that citizens expected after decades of regime rule have not been achieved at approximately the expected level. This, as it was emphasized, is reflected in the lack of a rule of law, institutional protection and economic security of citizens. It is for these reasons that the need for the Movement of People's Trust has been recognized as a new political entity, which gathers in its ranks an increasing number of responsible people, ready to work in the interests of citizens and the state through future action and participation in government," the statement reads.
The PNP said that they remain committed to restoring citizens' trust in politics through responsible action, open dialogue, and concrete solutions in the interests of all citizens of Montenegro.
