Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ervin Ibrahimović received in separate meetings the Ambassador of Turkey to Montenegro Ayda Unlu and the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Montenegro Khamis Rashed Ahmed Lebsaili Alshemeili, as part of their inaugural visits.

Ibrahimović congratulated Unla on assuming office and wished her a successful mandate in Montenegro, expressing his belief that, during her mandate, bilateral relations between Montenegro and Turkey will continue to develop in the spirit of friendship, mutual dialogue and intensified cooperation.

During the conversation, it was noted that the interstate relations between Montenegro and Turkey are friendly and high-quality, based on mutual respect and appreciation, and that they are continuously improved through intensive and meaningful cooperation in all areas, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.

"The relations are characterized by frequent political dialogue, which is reflected in realized and announced visits at the high and highest levels, the growth of trade and foreign direct investments, as well as a developed contractual base that represents a good basis for the implementation of future projects of mutual interest. Taking into account the regional context, it was assessed that the relations between Montenegro and the Republic of Turkey represent an example of constructive and quality cooperation aimed at preserving the stability, security and European perspective of the Western Balkans, further strengthened by the alliance of the two countries within NATO," it states.

In a conversation with the UAE Ambassador, Ibrahimović congratulated him on assuming office and expressed his expectation that during his mandate, relations between the two countries, which have been fundamentally built since the establishment of diplomatic relations almost twenty years ago, will further progress and gain in content and quality.

Cooperation is developing and concretizing in a wide range of areas, with the deepening of cooperation in the areas of economy, investment, energy, tourism and innovation, as well as discussions on specific projects and models of further cooperation, being particularly pleasing. The strengthened political dialogue was welcomed, which confirms the long-standing friendship between the two countries and the mutual interest in continuing to develop cooperation.
