The New Serbian Democracy (NSD) announced today that, at the proposal of the President of the Municipal Assembly (MA) of Žabljak and all councilors of the NSD Žabljak, the local parliament adopted an initiative to display the tricolor on the local government building and all companies founded by the MA of Žabljak.
The party added that the display of the tricolor was unanimously supported by its coalition partners, the Durmitor Initiative (PES) and Democratic Montenegro (Democrats).
"This is also a message to the authorities at the state level, to find a common language on identity issues, as the authorities in Žabljak did. Good, initial decisions that were supported at the state level have often come from Žabljak, let that be an example this time too. We from the Coalition for the Future of Žabljak are proud that after twenty years we have returned the tricolor to where it always belonged," the NSD statement reads.
According to them, according to the latest census, Serbs are the majority in Žabljak and have the guaranteed right to have their tricolor symbol flown in all institutions.
"The flag has always been a symbol of the strength, culture, and tradition of a people," the statement reads.
