The leader of Free Montenegro, Vladislav Dajković, asked the administration of the Capital City and Mayor Saša Mujović how it is that some other city officials have not been suspended for the same "sins" attributed to him in the explanation of the suspension.
Dajković stated in a press release that the lack of a response would be "decisive confirmation of a selective approach" or "a classic example of political showdown."
"Vijesti" published an article today about the presence of state and local officials of the New Serbian Democracy at a party meeting during working hours. Mujović recently initiated disciplinary proceedings and suspended Dajković, the head of the Citizens' Service, on suspicion of committing a serious breach of official duty by not performing his official duties during working hours.
"I remind the public that I was suspended by Mayor Saša Mujović on the grounds that I allegedly violated my work obligations because I attended the protest in Botun. That decision was presented as principled and based on respect for the law and work discipline. However, today we are witnessing a situation in which numerous officials attend party meetings during working hours, without any consequences and without a reaction from the city's first man. I ask the questions again: is the Mayor of Podgorica applying double standards and is he selectively using his 'mayoral' power to deal with those who do not suit him at a certain political moment, while at the same time turning a blind eye to the obvious and publicly visible actions of other officials," Dajković asked.
He stated that he does not wish for anyone to be dismissed or suspended, nor to campaign against anyone.
"Especially not against colleagues from the NSD... My criticism is not directed at them, but exclusively at the hypocritical and selective behavior of the mayor, because the law must apply equally to everyone or it must not apply to anyone. The citizens of Podgorica have the right to know whether the city administration is guided by the principles of equality and justice or by political interests and current calculations. That is precisely why I expect a clear answer to another question - whether only Dajković is on the 'kill list'," the Slobodna leader stated in a statement.
