The Socialist People's Party (SNP) will not support the announced initiative to shorten the mandate of the capital's Assembly, submitted by the European Union, announced party councilor Maša Stevović.
"There are numerous problems facing citizens in Podgorica that must be resolved without delay. Organizing and conducting early local elections would require large budget funds, and with the comprehensive elections in 2027, these elections would be the fourth in a row over a five-year period," she stated.
Stevović emphasized that citizens do not expect to go to the polls once a year, but rather the fulfillment of election promises, stability, progress, and the implementation of projects.
"The Socialist People's Party is committed to its program principles, as well as to fulfilling everything we promised to citizens during the pre-election period. We will actively advocate for the comprehensive development of Podgorica and improving the quality of life of all its citizens," concluded the SNP councilor.
