The Ambassador of Hungary to Montenegro, Jožef Njeđeši, and Peter Kaproncaj, First Advisor, paid an official visit to the Municipality of Budva today, where they met with the President of the Municipality of Budva, Nikola Jovanović.
The meeting was attended, as announced by the Municipality of Budva, by Petar Odžić, President of the Budva Municipal Assembly, Nevenka Božović Jovović, Chief Administrator of the Municipality of Budva, Jelena Lazić, Chief City Architect of the Municipality of Budva, and Mirjana Medenica, Acting Secretary of the Secretariat for Urbanism and Sustainable Development.
"During the conversation, the cooperation between the Municipality of Budva and Hungary was discussed, with particular emphasis on the possibilities of its further improvement through stronger institutional connections and direct communication between the competent authorities, recognizing the potential for the implementation of joint initiatives in areas of mutual interest. The initiative to erect a memorial in Petrovac, dedicated to the victims and survivors of the warship "Zenta", was also discussed. Representatives of the Hungarian Embassy emphasized that communication with the competent state institutions, including the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Culture, has already been established in connection with the aforementioned initiative, and it was agreed that further activities will take place through institutional dialogue and in accordance with established procedures," the statement reads.
Also, as it is added, the interlocutors discussed Montenegro's European path and current integration processes, emphasizing the importance of continuing reform activities and further progress in the process of accession to the European Union, assessing that European integration represents an important framework for institutional strengthening, sustainable development and improvement of regional cooperation.
"Readiness was expressed to continue intensive communication and deepen partnership relations, with a joint commitment to contribute to the further development of overall bilateral relations through concrete forms of cooperation," the statement concluded.
