Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs, Dr. Filip Ivanović, is participating in the Munich Security Conference, one of the most important global forums dedicated to contemporary security and geopolitical challenges.
On the first day of the conference, as announced by the Government, Ivanovic had a series of bilateral meetings with high-ranking officials.
"At a meeting with the Special Presidential Envoy of the United States of America for Special Missions, Ambassador Richard Grenell, the strong alliance between Montenegro and the United States of America was confirmed, with an exchange of views on contemporary security challenges, regional dynamics and current global developments, as well as the potential for strengthening bilateral cooperation between Montenegro and the USA in areas of common interest," it was announced.
During the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Portugal, Paulo Rangel, strong support for Montenegro's European integration was reiterated, with mutual readiness to further improve bilateral relations and cooperation within the framework of the European agenda.
"Ivanović also met with the European Commissioner for the Environment, Water Resilience and a Competitive Circular Economy, Jessica Rosvall, with whom he discussed Montenegro's progress in the European integration process, with particular emphasis on Chapter 27, including activities in the field of environmental protection and fulfilling obligations from the European agenda."
With the president of the Mexican Council on International Relations, Hector Cárdenas Suárez, Ivanovic exchanged views on contemporary global political and economic trends.
"On the sidelines of the conference, Ivanovic also had brief talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Luxembourg, Xavier Bettel, Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Braže, Norwegian Finance Minister and former NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, Bosnia and Herzegovina Foreign Minister Elmedin Konaković, Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares, and Serbian Minister for European Integration Nemanja Starović."
As part of the official opening of the conference, Ivanović attended the central program content, including a panel dedicated to Germany's role in Europe and the world, as well as the roundtable "Mapping Resilient Corridors: The Three Seas Initiative and Transatlantic Energy Security", organized by the Three Seas Initiative and the Government of the Republic of Croatia.
The Munich Security Conference has been bringing together world leaders, ministers, and representatives of international organizations for decades, representing a key platform for exchanging views on global security and geopolitical challenges.
