Parliamentary opposition MPs Andrija Nikolić (DPS), Ivan Vuković (DPS), Sonja Popović (DPS), Zoran Mikić (GP URA) and Nikola Zirojević (Social Democrats) submitted an Initiative for a control hearing of the President of the Municipality of Kotor Vladimir Jokić, the President of the Municipal Assembly (SO) of Kotor Vojin Batuta, as well as the Minister of Public Administration Maraš Dukaj due to the current situation in that city.
"Regarding the current situation in the Kotor Municipal Assembly, the Ministry of Public Administration, through the findings of administrative supervision, indicated that Article 56 of the Law on Local Self-Government has been violated, which prescribes the imperative obligation to elect the mayor within 30 days from the date of constitution of the Municipal Assembly," the MP's initiative states.
They said that, since the mayor was not elected within the specified period, the legal conditions for dissolving the Kotor parliament have been met.
"However, the leaders of Kotor have informed the public that they do not intend to comply with the findings of the Ministry of Public Administration, nor to return to the framework of respecting the Constitution and the law, which is why we believe it is necessary to hold a control hearing of the minister and leaders of the Municipality of Kotor," the initiative states.
