Last night, at the Plaza Hotel in Ulcinj, with the participation of over 100 delegates, the Women's Forum of the Civic Movement URA Ulcinj was officially formed, with Arijana Kurmemović elected as its president, the movement announced.
Biljana Bevenja, Paše Dragovoja, Aferdita Gorana and Hristina Dragović were elected as vice-presidents of the URA Ulcinj Women's Forum, while Merisa Alić was elected as secretary.
The Ulcinj GP URA announced that the formation of the Women's Forum by their municipal board is a strong and organized step towards greater participation of women in social and political processes in their city.
"We are particularly encouraged by the fact that over 100 women from our city attended the founding session. This clearly shows how important the topic of gender equality is, how much there is a need for organized action, but also how many women have the will, energy and determination to contribute to positive changes in the community with their knowledge and engagement," the statement said.
As it is added, the Congress conveyed that the URA Ulcinj Women's Forum will be a space for solidarity, support and concrete initiatives aimed at improving the position of women in all segments of society.
"Our message is clear, without the active and equal participation of women, there is no true development or a just society. Ulcinj's URA remains consistent with the values of equality, justice and equal opportunities for all, with strong support for women who want to be the bearers of positive change in our city," the statement concludes.
