The Democratic Councillors' Club strongly condemns the attitude of the representatives of the current local government in Bijelo Polje, which has shown that it is incapable of governing the municipality, nor of respecting the basic interests of citizens, said Marko Ljujić, president of the Democratic Councillors' Club of Bijelo Polje, for "Vijesti", after the postponement of the Municipal Assembly session due to the boycott of the Bosniak Party.
"Instead of responsible politics, we are witnessing shameless political trading, blackmail and party combinations, while Bijelo Polje remains without a budget, investments and development. Citizens have become hostages to the irresponsible policy of the government, which deals exclusively with the distribution of functions and seats, and not with solving real problems. It is particularly unacceptable that the municipality is being introduced into a temporary financing regime, which blocks projects, slows down the work of institutions and directly affects the daily lives of citizens, from infrastructure to social and development programs," Ljujić pointed out.
The Democrats say that Bijelo Polje must not be a victim of political calculations and inter-party blackmail.
"It is time to end the chaos, for those who are incapable of governing the municipality to bear political responsibility and leave power," said Ljujić.
