Montenegro and Turkey remain committed to deepening overall cooperation and maintaining dynamic political dialogue, for the benefit of the citizens of both countries and the stability of the wider region, it was announced at the meeting between Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanović and Turkish Ambassador Ayda Unlu.
Ivanovic, as announced by his office, congratulated the ambassador on her appointment and wished her a successful mandate in Montenegro.
He said he was confident that during her mandate, bilateral relations between the two countries would continue to develop in the spirit of friendship, mutual benefit and intensive cooperation.
"The interlocutors assessed that the two countries foster excellent and meaningful relations, further improved in the previous period through continuous political dialogue and strong economic cooperation," the statement said.
It is stated that the need for further institutional strengthening of the partnership was highlighted and that it was emphasized that the establishment of a High-Level Cooperation Council, whose formation is expected in the coming period, would provide additional impetus to overall bilateral relations and open up space for new joint initiatives.
