The Office of the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, announced that, in relation to the reaction of Defense Minister Dragan Krapović to Milatović's initiative to examine the constitutionality of certain provisions of the Law on the Army, the Minister defends the unconstitutional solution established by former Defense Minister Predrag Bošković (DPS). The Office of the President emphasizes that such a position represents a clear continuity of the policy towards the army led by the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), including support for controversial and unconstitutional solutions from that period.
"We also remind you that the Prime Minister is a member of the Defense and Security Council, and therefore the role of the Government cannot be eliminated as Mr. Krapović is trying to present," the statement concludes.
Minister of Defense Dragan Krapović told Radio Montenegro yesterday that he is looking forward to President Jakov Milatović's initiative to examine the constitutionality of certain provisions of the Law on the Army, but he also believes that it is a mistake, and that it will fail in the Constitutional Court.
