Europe Now Movement MP Miodrag Laković said that they did not change power to determine guilt and dispense justice, because that is not their right, but to build a just and functional system.
He said that "some people" just can't understand it.
"And it's not that complicated, everyone just needs to do their job, within the limits of their authority," Laković wrote on X.
In response to a comment from a user who said that it was condemnable to arrest "those who tried to change the system", Laković responded that a system "which was full of illegal, corrupt practices" must not be changed in an illegal manner, because over time it would "come to the same thing".
In response to the same user's statement that the laws, including the Constitution, should have been changed, because "we know who passed them" and that the system was "designed to be abused," Laković said that the laws were in line with the EU acquis.
"But, for quality implementation, free, quality and professional institutions are needed, and we know that they were not. We are making them that way, but the pendulum must not swing to the opposite side," said the PES MP.
