Members of the Montenegrin Parliament, Ivan Vuković (DPS) and Miodrag Laković (PES), sent a letter to all parliamentary groups in which they called on their colleagues to support the campaign to collect financial and humanitarian aid for the people of Ukraine.
Laković, in a post on the Iks network, said that he and Vuković, encouraged by the address of Ukrainian Ambassador Oleg Herasimenko, submitted an initiative to the parliamentary groups of the Parliament to jointly, at least in a symbolic way, show solidarity with citizens who have been suffering the severe consequences of Russian aggression for four years.
"Due to the extremely difficult situation in which millions of Ukraine's citizens find themselves as a result of Russian aggression against it, we urge you, using your reputation and influence in society, to support the campaign to collect financial and humanitarian aid for our Ukrainian friends," the document states.
As it is emphasized, one of the brightest traditions of Montenegrin society is related to the attitude of humanity towards people in need.
"Our generation has a moral obligation to preserve this value. Therefore, we expect that at a time when the democratic world marks the fourth anniversary of the beginning of Russian aggression, you will, to the extent possible, take part in the aforementioned action and thus set a good example for Montenegrin citizens and send a message of friendship to the people of Ukraine," the document reads.
