Several members of the Democratic Montenegro party spoke out after members of the opposition party came to the table of the presiding deputy speaker of parliament, Zdenka Popović, in order to prevent a discussion on amendments to the laws on the National Security Agency and internal affairs.
Bogdanović: Is there a country in which part of the opposition acts as a political shield for those who want the state to remain weak?
The president of the Democratic councilors' club, Boris Bogdanović, asked if there was Today, it is the only European country in which part of the opposition "openly tries to stop European integration, not with arguments, but with obstruction."
"Is there a country where the European path is not contested through politics, but through noise, not through attitude, but through sabotage? Is there a country where part of the opposition tries to demolish the plenary hall, to silence ministers and MPs, to prevent speech, debate and decision as if democracy is a switch that goes off when they don't like the outcome? Is there a country where part of the opposition acts as a political shield for those who want the state to remain weak, for institutions to remain captive, for crime to remain comfortable," Bogdanović asked.
He also asked "is there a country in which, whenever the ring around organized crime tightens, the cry of 'endangerment' is suddenly raised, and every action of the state is declared 'persecution'".
"Is there a country that goes so far as to suggest that a police officer should be the complete opposite of a police officer, to be compromised, blackmailed, broken, obedient to crime, not the law? That the uniform should not be a symbol of honor, but a screen for shame? Unfortunately, we are seeing that here, in our Montenegro. And so that everyone can be completely clear, this is not a fight between the government and the opposition. This is a fight between the state and lawlessness. Europe and isolation. Order and chaos. And there are no neutrals in this fight. Whoever destroys institutions in order to stop justice, is not destroying a building, not even a hall, he is destroying Montenegro," said Bogdanović.

Leković: The opposition should explain why it does not want a discussion on strengthening the Ministry of Interior and the National Security Agency, what are they afraid of?
Democratic MP Momčilo Leković said that the opposition must explain why it does not want a debate on, as he said, strengthening the Ministry of Interior and the National Security Agency, and asked what they are afraid of.
"The opposition does not want a debate on strengthening the Ministry of Interior and the National Security Agency. They do not want checks. They do not want a cleaning of the system. They do not want a strong state. The question is simple: What are they afraid of?" he said in a press release after opposition MPs from the DPS and SD tried to interrupt the debate on amendments to the laws on the National Security Agency and internal affairs.
A state that is not allowed to reform the security sector is not a serious state, he said.
"If you are against cleaning up the system - you have to explain why. We choose responsibility. They obviously choose blockade," Leković pointed out.
Stjepović: They are slowing down the EU path. Clear as day
Democratic MP Duško Stjepović said that DPS and SD "protect criminals in the police and ANB, theirs, of course."
"They are slowing down the EU path. It's clear as day. I myself proposed and defended the Law on the Ministry of Internal Affairs, with similar content, more than half a year ago. They didn't have time then either. It doesn't touch the 'aka'. But that too has been completed and given the green light. There will never be time for them for this law, because they know that the Ministry of Internal Affairs will, in a legal manner, say goodbye to their criminals... But it can't be done, we won't let it! Trying in vain. There's no going back! The system is being cleaned up. The police are being filled with honest people. The EU path continues," said Stjepović.
Vojinović: A clear dividing line between a strengthening state and a crumbling system
"Now everyone can clearly see how the 'Europeans' from the opposition are fighting for European standards and reforms," said Anđela Vojinović, a member of parliament from the Democrats, in a press release.
"Anything is possible (declaratively), except when the security system is trying to be cleansed of crime and criminal influence. That is why this is not a political performance today, but a clear dividing line between a state that is strengthening and a system that is falling apart, between those who are moving forward and those who are constantly pulling back, into chaos," she stated.
Ćeman: DPS created a system in which the "first family" was an informal institution
"Collective weeping over Aco Đukanović. DPS did not establish the first family as a formal body, but for years it created a system in which the "first family" could be an informal institution: stronger than administrations, faster than courts, stricter than the police," said Albin Ćeman, a member of parliament from the Democrats.
"And in return, that informal institution gave DPS what DPS loves most. I'm sorry, but the people's, spend it wisely, is no longer valid," he added.
