Nikolić: Just because we are civilized and decent does not mean we are not ready to defend Montenegro and its vital interests

"The fact that we are civilized and decent people does not mean that we are not ready to defend Montenegro and its vital interests as we did yesterday," said Andrija Nikolić, head of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) parliamentary group in the Parliament of Montenegro, in a video address to "citizens and political dissenters."

The video was posted on the DPS Instagram profile.

"And don't have any dilemma - we will do the same whenever necessary, whether in power or in opposition. A European Montenegro and the well-being of its citizens are our political and moral obligation," said Nikolić, surrounded by other MPs from his party.

Some opposition MPs tried to interrupt the debate on amendments to the ANB and internal affairs laws yesterday. The MPs' statement on these laws was scheduled for last night at 20 pm, but was postponed to March 6, after DPS leader Danijel Živković announced at a press conference that the party would leave the parliamentary Committee for Comprehensive Electoral Reform if a vote was held.
