The Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) has called on Prime Minister Milojko Spajić to dismiss Interior Minister Danilo Šaranović.

The head of the DPS parliamentary group, Andrija Nikolić, said that Šaranović misled MPs that the adoption of the Law on Internal Affairs was a condition for closing Chapter 24 in negotiations with the European Union.

Antena M announced today that they received a response from the EU Delegation to Montenegro that the European Commission assessed that the proposed amendments to the Law on Internal Affairs and the National Security Agency (ANB) are not in line with the EU acquis.

These responses also state that the final benchmarks for Chapter 24 do not require Montenegro to amend the Law on Internal Affairs, nor the Law on the National Security Agency.

"Following the EC's position, we call on the Government to withdraw the laws on the Police and the National Security Agency until they are harmonized with the EU acquis, that is, until the adoption of the general data protection regulation," Nikolić wrote on Iks.
