The Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) filed a criminal complaint against the President of the Kotor Municipal Assembly, Vojin Batuta (Grbaljska Lista), for, as they said, violations of the Law on Local Self-Government, the Constitution and direct violation of the electoral will.
DPS MP Nikola Milović said that Batuta thus enabled Vladimir Jokić to continue to hold the position of mayor of Kotor and thus abused his official position.
"Citizen Jokić, the self-proclaimed mayor of the municipality in 2026, was elected by councilors who were elected in the 2020 elections, and in the meantime we have had two election cycles. It is clear that Jokić's only motive is to preserve his seat, but it is unacceptable that Vojin Batuta helps him in this, not acting according to the law, consciously. Is that possible in a country that wants to be a member of the EU?", he said, adding that "they are holding the entire city hostage."
As he pointed out, all decisions made by Jokić are illegal.
"If he is elected in 2025 for a four-year term, what will we need for elections next year," Milović asked.
He called on the courts and the prosecution "to stop this lawlessness."
Milović did not have an answer to the question of who would be the new vice president of the municipality of Budva, and that as the president of the councilors' club, he had not yet received notification of the proposal of the first man of that municipality, Nikola Jovanović.
