PES on Laković's resignation: Another proof that we live democracy in practice

The formalization of the resignation, which Mr. Laković has announced on several occasions, is yet another proof that we live in a democracy in practice, so expressing a different opinion is a normal occurrence for the Europe Now! Movement (PES), PES announced tonight.

MP Miodrag Laković announced tonight in the Parliament that he is resigning from the position of Chairman of the Committee on Security and Defense and other memberships when it comes to committees, but also from his membership in the Europe Now Movement (PES) parliamentary group.

Laković resigned after the adoption of the Law on Internal Affairs, but will retain his mandate and continue his engagement as an independent MP.

"As before, at this moment we appreciate the principledness of Mr. Laković, who now leads the Security and Defense Committee on behalf of the Europe Movement, and we firmly believe that in the future, from various positions, we will give our maximum in the fight against organized crime," the statement reads.
