If Stalin, Pol Pot and Ceausescu were alive, they would send a telegram of support to the Government of Montenegro tonight, announced the president of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and one of the leaders of the European Alliance, Ivan Vujović, tonight.
"One thing is certain - this government has essentially fallen tonight, it will only be formalized in the elections. Because the need for the uncontrolled power of the police-informant apparatus is the most reliable sign of panic and, above all, weakness," Vujović pointed out in a statement.
He added that "eager and hungry for everything, and it seems most of all for sticks, batons, sirens and the need to control everything by force of state monopoly, they have once again shown all the splendor of mediocrity arrogance."
"That ship is irrevocably sinking, and the example of MP Laković shows that people with integrity and capacity have no place there. His act is principled and it is not a surprise to me because, as I once told him in a polite and cultural polemic, that is not and cannot be his company," said Vujović.
The Parliament of Montenegro adopted tonight amendments to the Law on Internal Affairs and the Law on the National Security Agency (ANB).
The amendments to the Law on Internal Affairs were adopted by 47 MPs, while 12 voted against, and there were no abstentions.
The adoption of the Law on the National Security Agency was supported by 47 MPs, ten were against, and there were no abstentions.
Miodrag Laković announced tonight in the Parliament that he is resigning from the position of Chairman of the Committee on Security and Defense and other memberships when it comes to parliamentary committees, as well as his membership in the Europe Now Movement (PES) parliamentary club.
Laković resigned after the adoption of amendments to the Law on Internal Affairs, and will retain his mandate and continue his engagement as an independent MP.
"Vijesti" reported on March 5 that Laković had announced to party colleagues, including party leader and Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, that he would resign from all party positions if the amendments to the Law on Internal Affairs were adopted in the currently proposed form.
