Deputy Prime Minister Filip Ivanović responded to the claim of Deputy President and MP of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Ivan Vuković that the chargé d'affaires "was almost invited for talks in an important EU country."
Ivanovic says that this is the second time in just a few days that Vukovic, as the Deputy Prime Minister claims, has stated untruths of this type.
"With all due respect, there are only two possibilities: either you are deliberately making it up or someone is deliberately misleading you to undermine your credibility. If the former, stop; and if the latter, at least check your sources before you run off again," he wrote on X.
Vuković replied that his job did not allow him to respond appropriately to Ivanović's message.
"Both information is easily verifiable and, as you can see, available to the general public. That was the case in December when I informed the public about France's position regarding the chapter. It is always like that," said the DPS MP.
"The job you do, above all, should not allow you to use untruths to deceive the public. That is very inappropriate. But if nothing else, your answer has at least resolved the dilemma - after all, it is the first option in question," Ivanovic replied.
"Again, instead of an adequate response to a repeated insult, if you really do not have information, remember what you wrote when certain ambassadors, even in conversations with you, repeat that their governments 'never mentioned deadlines when it comes to the EU integration process,'" Vuković said.
