Leković: A cowardly act by Milo Đukanović, whoever is clear before the truth has no reason to hide

Milo Đukanović's letter informing the Inquiry Committee that he will not come to the hearing is actually an act of cowardice and nothing more than an attempt to avoid facing questions that the public has been waiting for answers to for decades, said Democratic Party MP Momčilo Leković:

"For years he has spoken about institutions, responsibility and the state, and now, when he needs to sit before a legitimate parliamentary committee and answer questions about the most difficult events from our political past - he decides to flee. Instead of answers to questions about the dark times in which he ruled, about murders and beatings, we get political platitudes and an attempt to discredit the work of the Committee," Leković said in a press release.

The Democratic MP said that it is clear that Đukanović is afraid of questions to which he has no answers.

"If he had arguments, he would come and present them before the citizens of Montenegro. However, it is easier to write a letter than to sit before the Committee and face the facts and the truth. Whoever is clear before the truth has no reason to hide. Whoever runs away from questions speaks for himself how much he is actually afraid of the truth," Leković concluded.
