Jovanović appointed Božović and Ivanović as vice-presidents of the Municipality of Budva

The President of the Municipality of Budva, Nikola Jovanović, appointed two vice presidents today.

Jovanović confirmed this to "Vijesti".

Jovanović's deputies will be replaced by councilor of the "Budva Our City" group Dejan Božović and the current acting secretary for property protection Vlado Ivanović.

Both candidates are members of Jovanović's political group "Budva our city".

The appointment of the vice-president should be approved by the Budva parliament tomorrow, and a simple majority vote is required, i.e. 17 out of 33 councilors in the Budva Municipal Assembly (MA).

Božović is one of the key figures in the "Budva Our City" group because, during the split of the former Democratic Front (DF), he publicly supported the political group led by Jovanović.

The explanation of the appointment decision, which "Vijesti" had access to, states that he completed elementary and secondary school in Budva, while he earned his degree in economics at the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade.

"He began his professional career in 2005 at the Budva Sports and Recreation Center, where he worked until 2018 and gained significant experience in the field of organization and functioning of sports and public institutions. Since 2018, he has been employed at the Mediterranean Sports Center Budva as a human resources officer, where he is engaged in human resource management and administrative processes of the institution. From 2021 to 2024, he was a member of the Board of Directors of the Public Company for the Management of the Coastal Zone of Montenegro. He is politically and socially engaged as a councilor in the Budva Municipal Assembly. He served as a councilor in the mandate period from 2016 to 2020, and was re-elected as a councilor in 2025 as a representative of the Budva Our City political group. In the current convocation of the Budva Municipal Assembly, he serves as the President of the Selection and Appointments Committee. He is a former basketball player and through sports engagement he developed team spirit, discipline and dedication to work. He has the knowledge to work on computer," he writes in his biography.

On the other hand, Vlado Ivanović has been one of Jovanović's closest associates for the past two years, since he headed the Secretariat for Property Protection.

Ivanović graduated from the Faculty of Law at the Mediterranean University, and completed his specialist studies, criminal law department, at the Faculty of Law at the University of Montenegro.

He has been serving as Acting Secretary for Property Protection since March 2024.

As stated, he was entrusted with the organization of work and management of the Secretariat responsible for the legal protection of property rights and interests of the Municipality; Representation of the interests of the Municipality; Coordination and supervision of proceedings before courts, administrative bodies and other institutions with the aim of preserving, protecting and valorizing municipal property.

He was engaged in the preparation of expert opinions, decisions and general acts within the competence of the Secretariat; Cooperation with authorities: Intensive cooperation with state authorities, courts, the Protector of Property and Legal Interests, enforcement and notary offices.

The biography states that in the period from 2020-2024 he was the head of the legal department, and before that, in the period from 2016-2020, he was an advisor to the public bailiff in the Office of Public Bailiff Snežana Pavličić from Podgorica.
