Andrijevica DPS files criminal charges against the President of the Municipal Assembly

The Andrijevica branch of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) has filed a criminal complaint against the President of the Municipal Assembly, Vesko Raketić.

They said that the report was filed due to suspicion that Raketić had committed the criminal offenses of abuse of official position and forgery of documents.

"As a reminder, Raketić abused his official position when he exerted inappropriate influence on the employees of the Andrijevica Municipal Assembly Service not to perform the official action of directly receiving the letter - the Proposal for the dismissal of the President of the Andrijevica Municipal Assembly. Also, Raketić abused his official position by not acting on it, after the initiative in question was delivered to him by mail, because as the President of the Assembly, he did not include the proposal for his dismissal on the agenda of the first subsequent session, despite the fact that he was obliged to do so," the DPS board in Andrijevica announced.

"Furthermore, Raketić entered false content into the document that he, at the request of the competent inspection body, prepared and certified with a seal and signature as the president of the Municipal Assembly, with the intention of concealing the abuse of official position and misleading the inspection body," the party added.

DPS called on the Special State Prosecutor's Office to "stop keeping criminal charges against the leaders of the current government locked away in drawers, both in Andrijevica and at the state level, and to finally start doing its job."

"If he does not act on this criminal complaint, it will be clear that the prosecutor's office serves only and exclusively as a whip for those in power to deal with political dissenters," the statement reads.
