If the Ministry of Defense sees the call to carry the national flag and cheer for Montenegro as a call for a coup, then that is their serious diagnosis, said Social Democrat MP Nikola Zirojević.
"The best indicator that the Minister of Defense was brutally defeated by the power of arguments in yesterday's debate is the fact that first yesterday, after I left the plenary hall, contrary to the Rules of Procedure, he tried to debate with me again, and then today, believe it or not, the ministry that should be synonymous with courage is issuing an unsigned statement that is full of lies. I will be very clear - if the Ministry of Defense sees the call to carry the national flag and cheer for the state as a call for a coup, then that is their diagnosis, and a very serious one. And the fact that officers of the Army of Montenegro were persecuted precisely because of the above speaks further in favor of such a diagnosis. But what can be expected when the ministry is led by a cadre of a party whose founder is a former recruiter of the Seventh Battalion," Zirojević said.
"Finally, regarding the statement's claim that all members of the Montenegrin Army must be 'unconditionally loyal to Montenegro', I ask the question - does the Minister of Defense have to? Given that we still have fresh memories of the Mayor of the Municipality Krapović, who is in the front row celebrating the centenary of the blood-lost Montenegrin independence. Or is this not the same person, nor is it the putschist Krapović who tried to block Budva with official municipal police vehicles," the statement reads.
