Murino has not been forgotten, but remains a symbol of togetherness, solidarity and perseverance in nurturing truth and justice, so that similar suffering will never be repeated, said the Democratic People's Party (DNP) on the anniversary of the NATO bombing of the place in 1999, in which six civilians, including three children, lost their lives.
The party's delegation, led by president Milan Knežević, laid a wreath at the monument to the innocent victims.
"With this act, the DNP once again confirms its commitment to preserving the memory of the innocent victims, nurturing a culture of remembrance and respect for the victims. Since day one, DNP officials, together with the citizens of Murin, have been preserving the memory of the innocent victims and the horrific crime of NATO from oblivion," they said.
As they add, with their continued presence and support, they show that Murino "has not been forgotten, but remains a symbol of togetherness, solidarity and perseverance in nurturing truth and justice, so that similar suffering will never happen again."
