Budva our city: They lost the elections, so they attacked Budva out of desperation

Coordinated attacks by political entities such as New Serbian Democracy (NSD), Democrats, Democratic People's Party and Movement for the City represent a desperate attempt by the politically disoriented opposition to try to make any political profit on an artificially manufactured topic - stated in a statement by the political group "Budva our city - Nikola Jovanović".

It is particularly indicative, as they point out, that today the loudest critics come precisely from the ranks of the Democrats, those who managed the property protection sector of the Budva Municipality for eight full years.

"It was during this period that legal and financial obligations were created that are due for payment today. Instead of showing a minimum of political responsibility, the same actors are today trying to escape from their own results and shift the blame to others. The best evidence of how they managed this sector is that their staff could not wake up until 12 o'clock, let alone show up for a scheduled court hearing. And after noon, you could not find them in the office, but only in a nearby cafe near the municipality building. Since they took care of protecting the interests of the municipality and court proceedings, it is to be expected that we will have blockages on a daily basis. Who knows what awaits us due to their inaction and incompetence," the statement said.

As it is emphasized, "the citizens of Budva know very well what the management of that department looked like, without results, without accountability and without a clear strategy for protecting the interests of the Municipality."

"The consequences of such an attitude towards the public interest are being paid today, and those who are most responsible for it are trying to present themselves as critics. We also recall that some former office holders, including Đorđe Zenović, attempted a political 'dress change' before the elections, but citizens clearly communicated what they think about such politics, both about them and those from whose ranks they come. The political fiasco they experienced in their local communities where they grew up best shows what fellow citizens think about them and their work. The way in which the blockade in the amount of 5,8 million euros was implemented, without adequate institutional sensitivity for the functioning of local self-government, is additionally worrying. We ask an open question: what will these same actors say if the audit is in favor of the Municipality of Budva? Will they then take responsibility for spreading panic and attempting destabilization?", the statement emphasizes.

It is very indicative, as it is added, that the Central Bank of Montenegro allowed such a blockade without warning the municipality and that the public bailiff was allowed to collect. Is this also a case of political pressure on the financial authorities of Montenegro through state institutions in order to cause damage to the municipality and create a crisis?

"Instead of serious politics, we are witnessing transparent attempts to manipulate and invoke a crisis. Such attempts are futile and doomed to failure. The government in Budva is stable, the finances are stable and the system is functioning. Getting out of the blockade is a technical issue that will be resolved as soon as possible. Budva will not be held hostage by an irresponsible and politically spent opposition. The citizens of Budva know the truth and that is what hurts those who are trying to reshape it today the most. And as for the orchestrated attack by the NSD, DNP, Democrats and Zenović, their association speaks best about them. At the state level, although they are in power, they 'gouge out' each other's eyes every day, put their foot down and call each other out in the most base way through qualifications of a 'pornographic, corrupt and criminal government'. The greatest truths about them are those they utter to each other. We can only conclude that they are right when they describe each other and that they deserve each other," concludes the statement "Budva our city - Nikola Jovanović".
