Budva our city: Numbers shatter lies - 17,5 million into projects, not into pockets

"When the Democrats, New Serbian Democracy and the Democratic People's Party try to give lessons on principles and responsibility, it is clear that this is the height of political cynicism and an attempt to erase one's own role in Budva's problems from collective memory," the political group "Budva Our City - Nikola Jovanović" said in a response.

The Budva opposition accused Jovanović of spending 21 million euros on DPS combinations, and because of that, there is no money to pay workers' salaries.

"Those who called their own government 'pornographic-criminal' were a loyal part of it as long as they derived political benefit from it. They did not leave it because of principle, but left their cadres in it, in depth and breadth, just as they left them in the system that functioned with the support of Dritan Abazović and the Democratic Party of Socialists. For a full 18 months, they were in a political 'marriage' with the DPS, using positions, distributing cadres and remaining silent as long as it suited them. Today, they are trying to present themselves as a moral corrective, even though they themselves are part of the problem they are criticizing today," Jovanović's group points out.

As they add, regarding attempts to manipulate numbers, the facts are inexorable.

"Not 20 million, but 17,5 million euros were transferred. These funds did not disappear, but were spent on specific projects and obligations that citizens see: 7,1 million euros for the purchase of the JRB building, 3,5 million euros for resolving the international arbitration with the WTE company, 500.000 euros for the purchase of a plot for a kindergarten, 1,3 million euros for plots in Dubovica for the construction of a garage, 1,5 million euros for sports, over 4 million euros based on a court verdict already withdrawn from the account. In addition, the Municipality of Budva allocated over 300.000 euros for the Budva Health Center, provided two specialized vehicles for the Health Center and one for the Ambulance. And all this even though healthcare and education are not the primary responsibilities of the Municipality, they are a responsibility towards citizens," Budva Naš Grad emphasizes.

Capital budget realization, as they point out, is already at a record 37 percent.

"These are the results. Everything else is an attempt at panic and spin. As for the account freeze, let them not hope. We will resolve it in record time, much to their regret. The Municipality of Budva is not and will not be the one that will borrow hundreds of millions of euros, sell bonds and artificially raise salaries in order to produce inflation and buy political peace. Unlike them, we manage our finances responsibly, transparently and in a long-term sustainable manner. Today, faced with their own political decline, they are trying to hide the truth through attacks and constructions that they have been managing the sectors for years from which the obligations that burden the budget today come. When they run out of arguments, they turn to insults. That is not strength, that is political powerlessness," this political group emphasizes.

As they say, Budva will not be held hostage to such politics.

"The government is stable, finances are stable and all obligations will be duly settled. The citizens of Budva do not forget. And that is precisely why all their attempts to reshape the truth will end up where they belong, in the political past. Accusations that you see organized crime in the Municipality of Budva are not a diagnosis of the system but a reflection of your own political consciousness. You are not talking about others, you are talking about yourself. The fact that criminals from OKG and SOCTA are heroes to you, political and state officials, speaks of the infiltration of crime into political processes and decision-making. You have not gotten away with that in this city and it is clear why you are frustrated and whose dictates you are carrying out," concludes the reaction of "Budva our city - Nikola Jovanović".
