The Municipality of Budva adopted the Program of temporary facilities for the period 2019-2023. year and thus created assumptions that during the next few years Budva will transform into a modern and organized tourist destination with an appropriate offer, it was announced from the Budva board of Democratic Montenegro.
"Immediately after that, the MORT, i.e. the Government of Montenegro, determined and adopted the Program of temporary buildings for the period 2019-2023 in the Maritime Dobr zone. The MORT also deleted a number of buildings on the promenade in Budva in its Program, of course - neither close to what the Municipality of Budva has done, but, nevertheless, progress is evident and now we have the minimum conditions for Budva to go on the path of high-quality tourist destinations", it was reported.
The Democrats said that this approach and epilogue "met with fierce opposition from the management of Morski Dobr and the local board of DPS, above all - Mr. Jelušić and his associates in Morski Dobr and the local board of DPS."
"According to our findings, which we would like to share with the public of Montenegro, Mr. Jelušić has still not given up on the subsequent "corrections" that would allow a number of already deleted buildings to be returned to the Budva promenade, which are collapsing Budva's offer in the worst possible way. let's send a public warning to everyone who wants to keep us away from the goal of making Budva a normal city and a top destination for another year, two or five, not to play with half of Montenegrin tourism! of DPS and if the Government in the period before us changes the Program and returns the deleted objects, it will only confirm that it works according to the agenda of DPS and against the interests of sustainable tourism in Montenegro. Rotten political compromises and the satisfaction of individual petty interests do not go together with serious strategic planning and destination management. Fortunately, that will soon come to an end," the statement concluded.
