The cooperation between Montenegro and the US Coast Guard is beneficial and significant in many ways, and its continuation represents an important link in the improvement of Montenegrin ports.

This was announced after a meeting between Maritime Affairs Minister Filip Radulović and representatives of the US Coast Guard, which spent a week in Montenegro and visited the port of Bar, Port of Adria, the ports of Budva, Kotor and Tivat, and the newly formed Port Authority.

"I appreciate the cooperation I have with the US Coast Guard, because they monitor the implementation of the ISPS code in Montenegrin ports on an annual basis, and in this way they give us recommendations for improving the security of vessels and ports," said Radulović.

As announced by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, representatives of the US Coast Guard expressed satisfaction at the meeting, because this department, led by Radulović, is continuously working to raise awareness of security risks, which is why the application of the ISPS code is important in order to know at all times how many people are on the vessel and how much cargo is on the vessels.

"Continued cooperation between Montenegro and the US Coast Guard represents an important link in the improvement of Montenegrin ports," the statement said.

Radulović said that they continue to cooperate with the US Coast Guard year after year, because it is one of the ways to improve the work system of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs.
