Today, there is no longer any doubt about how the DPS functioned for years - through a network of political, media and parapolitical activities in which "permitted and unauthorized means" were an acceptable model of the struggle to preserve power, said Socialist People's Party (SNP) spokesperson Jovan Novović.
He made this statement in response to recently published correspondence between Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) official Miloš Nikolić and the accused head of the so-called Grand Clan, Aleksandar Mijajlović.
According to Novović, the correspondence between Nikolić and Mijajlović exposed the mechanism by which organized attacks, bot networks, manipulation of public opinion, and discrediting political dissenters were planned.
"Of particular concern is the fact that their communication openly talks about using 'more illegal than legal means', with the message that they were 'too democrats'. This best confirms the political matrix according to which the DPS has operated for decades - abuse of institutions, control of the media, production of false narratives and creation of parallel centers of power were the basis for the survival of their government, not democratic capacity and the trust of citizens," Novović pointed out.
He added that the citizens of Montenegro today clearly see why it was necessary to decentralize such a system.
"Those who have accused others for years of allegedly endangering the state have themselves planned hybrid operations, coordinated campaigns and actions outside the boundaries of the law. That is why it is important that the competent institutions bring this case to an end, without selectivity and political protection for anyone," he concluded.
