Peace, democracy, the rule of law and human dignity, the values on which modern Europe is built, are best preserved in the Parliament of Montenegro, the home of all citizens, which, through its legislative function, remains strongly committed to the country's European path.
This was announced by the Secretary General of the Parliament of Montenegro, Boban Stanišić, on the occasion of May 9, Victory Day over Fascism and Europe Day.
According to him, it is precisely in the Parliament of Montenegro, regardless of political, ideological and other differences, that the fact that almost 80 percent of citizens support Montenegro's entry into the European Union is clearly reflected.
"The Parliament of Montenegro, as the highest representative house of citizens, has a particularly important role on our country's European path. Through legislative work, strengthening institutions, dialogue and responsible decision-making, the Parliament contributes daily to the realization of Montenegro's European perspective," said Stanišić.
As he said, this is evidenced by the fact that since the beginning of the year, 97 laws have been adopted in the Parliament, which confirms the Parliament's commitment to accelerating reform processes, harmonization with European standards, and creating a strong legislative framework for Montenegro's European future.
"The European future is not just a political goal, but a process that requires commitment, responsibility and joint work of all institutions," said Stanišić.
It is built, as Stanišić states, through respect for democratic procedures, strengthening legal certainty, protecting public interest, and creating a society in which every citizen has equal rights and opportunities.
"Let May 9th be a reminder that Montenegro is part of the European family of values and that our common task is to make that path safe, credible and successful," he concluded.
