On the occasion of May 11th - Bosniak National Flag Day, several officials and political parties sent congratulations
Šahman: The flag as a symbol of peace and freedom is an indispensable part of the culture, history and tradition of the people, it is associated with the recognizability of Bosniaks
The President of the Bosniak Democratic Movement (BDP), Dr. Sead Šahman, also sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of May 11th - Bosniak Flag Day.
"I extend my congratulations on the occasion of one of the most important national holidays for the Bosniak people - May 11 - National Flag Day. The flag, as a symbol of peace and freedom, is an indispensable part of the culture, history and tradition of the people, and it is associated with the recognition of Bosniaks both in Montenegro, the region and the diaspora around the world," Šahman said in a statement.
Fejzić: Our uniqueness is our wealth
The Head of the Islamic Community in Montenegro, Rifat Fejzić, congratulated all Bosniaks on May 11, Flag Day.
"Our uniqueness is our wealth, and Montenegro is our destiny and our only state. We inherited it from our ancestors, and we are protecting it with our successors. Let us be proud guardians of our country and our tradition," Fejzić said in his congratulatory message.
BS: Lilies on the Bosniak flag - a symbol of continuity and survival
The Bosniak Party (BS) congratulated "all Bosniaks in Montenegro, the region and the diaspora."
"This significant date is a reminder of the rich history, cultural heritage and enduring struggle of Bosniaks to preserve their national identity, language, tradition and dignity. The recognizable lilies on the Bosniak flag, a symbol of the continuity and survival of a people through the centuries, are much more than that today - they are a link between the past, present and future," they said.
As they add, they are obliged to carefully nurture and transmit their identity to future generations, to be unique in preserving what makes them Bosniaks - language, culture, history and symbols.
"In this sense, the Bosniak Party remains consistent in its political activities and commitment to preserving and strengthening the Bosniak national identity, the equality of Bosniaks in Montenegro, as well as the improvement of their cultural and social position. Once again, happy May 11th - Bosniak National Flag Day to all Bosniaks!", they say.
Nurković: It is an opportunity to proudly recall the values that have defined us throughout history
The Vice President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Mirsad Nurković (BS), also congratulated the Bosniak National Flag Day.
"Bosniak National Flag Day is an opportunity to proudly recall the values that have defined us throughout history - dignity, togetherness and love for our identity. Our flag is not only a symbol of one people, but also a sense of belonging, preserving tradition and respect for ancestors who have left a deep mark on our history. Bosniaks in Montenegro have made a significant contribution to the building of a civic, multiethnic and European Montenegro, and marking this day reminds us of the importance of mutual respect, solidarity and the common future that we are building together," he said.
As he adds, the fact that in the same month "we celebrate both Bosniak Flag Day and Montenegro's Independence Day, which confirms the strong connection of the Bosniak people with the state of Montenegro and their lasting commitment to its progress and stability, carries special symbolism."
