NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, responding to a journalist's question today about clarifying his statement that certain members, including Montenegro, are considering providing their bases for interventions in the Middle East, said that he could not speak about it in more detail.
"Regarding the bases, I was speaking more figuratively. In general, I want to say that I am not going into details about what exactly this means for Montenegro as a country. We do not want to inform others too much and let them know too much," Rute said at a press conference at Villa Gorica after a meeting with the Prime Minister of Montenegro Milojko Spajić.
He emphasized that Montenegro is one of the strongest allies when it comes to bilateral relations with the United States.
"In conversations with friends from the US, I heard that this is also the US's attitude towards Montenegro," said Rute.
