There is a long list of benefits that the "recognition" of Kosovo has brought to Zeta, sarcastically commented in the municipal board of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Zeta, in which they described this act of the local parliament as a pointless and politically motivated decision.
"Kosovo is no longer independent, the Zeta Assembly decided, creating a stir on the international scene, worrying Belgrade and Brussels, not to mention Pristina. The long-prepared decision, a 'turning point and cornerstone' of the work of this Zeta Municipality administration, was successfully voted on on the eighth attempt. Now everyone is relieved both in Zeta and in Kosovo, and the effects on the standard of living of citizens are multiple," the Zeta DPS statement states.
It is emphasized that there is already a feeling that inflation is lower in Zeta and that life is better, the consumer basket is somehow fuller, although perhaps, as they admit, it is just a subjective feeling.
"We are somehow happier that, in addition to many famous Zeta personalities, we chose our favorite poet Milan Knežević as the first monument in recent history and sent a 'nice' message to the master in Moscow that they are more important to us than we are to ourselves. People who change at the roundabout at KAP no longer feel humiliated in their attempt to somehow get to Podgorica, they are pleasantly waiting out the great heat in the dust, satisfied with the solution that the 'capable' Zeta government created just for them," the statement added.
The DPS ironically assesses that the citizens of Botun no longer feel cheated at all because the DNP, as they say, has been raising the party's rating behind their backs and misleading them and the whole of Montenegro for half a year.
"Even the young director of KIC is no longer nervous that he, as president of the SNP OO, was replaced by his members in the interest of the NSD, he even wholeheartedly supported this historic 'step forward'. Zeta's truck drivers are overjoyed because they know that they will be welcomed in Kosovo waving Montenegrin flags that the Zeta government sent them so that they can celebrate 20 years of independence there because they have had enough of decorating Zeta... There is a long list of benefits that the 'recognition' of Kosovo has brought to Zeta, and this sarcastic series of shameful moves by the current government that culminated in this pointless and politically motivated decision could be even longer," they say in the Zeta DPS.
If it weren't tragic, it would be funny, but no one laughs without pain anymore, they add.
"But, as they say, the bear will play at their door... or has it already played!?" the statement concludes.
