Milatović in Estonia today and tomorrow

The President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, and his wife Milena will be on an official visit to Estonia today and tomorrow, during which they will have meetings at the highest state level.

Milatović will, as announced by his cabinet, meet with Estonian President Alar Karis, who will also host a ceremonial lunch.

It is stated that Milatović will also speak with the Speaker of the Estonian Parliament, Lauri Husar, and the Prime Minister, Kristen Mihal, during his visit.

"The talks will cover key topics of strategic importance for the two countries - improving bilateral relations, strengthening political and economic cooperation, intensifying Montenegro's European integration, with a special focus on Estonia's support in the final stages of the negotiation process," the statement said.

As announced, the emphasis will be on further connecting the institutions of the two countries and strengthening digital and security cooperation.

"This visit also provides continuity in the intensive political dialogue between the two countries, considering that Estonian President Alar Karis paid an official visit to Montenegro in June 2025, which further confirmed friendly relations and shared commitment to Montenegro's European future," the statement said.

It is added that, on the second day of his visit to Estonia, Milatović will participate in the prestigious Lennart Meri Conference, one of the most prestigious international forums on global security and foreign policy challenges.

It is stated that he will speak at the presidential panel within the Conference about contemporary security challenges, the European perspective and the importance of the European Union (EU) enlargement policy.

"President Milatović's participation in this conference further confirms Montenegro's growing visibility and credibility on the international stage, as well as its clear commitment to actively contributing to European and transatlantic policies," said Milatović's office.

They emphasized that the official visit to Estonia represents a strong incentive for the further development of partnership relations between the two countries and further strengthens political dialogue at the highest level at a time when Montenegro is intensifying its activities towards full EU membership.
