The President of the Bosniak Party (BS) and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, Ervin Ibrahimović, said that with the establishment of the BS 20 years ago, Bosniaks renewed their institutional and political activities.
At the conference titled "20 Years of the Bosniak Party and Independent Montenegro," he said that the political engagement of Bosniaks was marginalized.
"By establishing the Bosniak Union, Bosniaks became creators, not observers, of political processes."
For the long jubilee - the restoration of independence, as he said, Bosniaks made a crucial contribution.
The establishment of the Bosniak People's Party, he said, was important for the referendum, and the victory in the referendum also represented the opening of a new political perspective for Bosniaks.
He said that the development of the north and employment is one of the pillars of their political work.
He recalled the work of the party's founder, Rafet Husović, stating that they owe him gratitude and respect for what he did for Bosniaks.
As he said, BS is today a serious political force that represents an important factor in decision-making and represents the interests of its voters but also of the entire Montenegro.
The leader of the movement for an independent Montenegro, Ferhat Dinoša, said that the referendum is the biggest project in the social policy of Montenegro, which would not have been achieved without Milo Đukanović and his cooperation with minorities.
He said that he collaborated with "Montenegro's greatest son, Milo Đukanović," stating that the cooperation was fruitful.
At the beginning of the project, Đukanović addressed me in his office with the words: "Ferhat, I entered this project without any return. If you see interest in it for Albanians, join me."
Dinoša said that after that he asked Đukanović for an answer on how Montenegro would behave towards Kosovo, and received an answer that if Montenegro became independent, it would support Kosovo's independence.
"Anger is anger when it comes from Albanians and some Montenegrins," said Dinoša.
Bosniak MP Adel Omeragić said that the restoration of independence was the result of political responsibility, trust and late vision. A special place, he said, in this process belongs to smaller peoples. 20 years ago, with the establishment of Bosniak Bosniaks renewed their institutional and political activity.
Dinoša told "those who are brokering" that no one will be able to change the decision from 2006.
The president of the Croatian Civic Initiative (HGI), Adrijan Vuksanović, said that national parties are needed by national communities so that they do not wander in terms of identity and so that they can have their own political subjectivity and affirm their rights.
National parties, he said, do not threaten multiculturalism.
"When you are followers of great ideas, then you are not a minority," said Vuksanović.
At the panel "The Role of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Smaller Peoples in the Period of Renewal of Independence and Montenegro's Path to the EU and NATO", former Parliament Speaker Ranko Krivokapić said that first the people who worship knew what their country was, and then the rest.
Krivokapić said that Montenegro is indebted to its minority peoples.
"We, as citizens, need to repay this debt, and you must be aware that from the evil that has been done to you, you are doing good," said Krivokapić.
He said that the Bosniak Party is the only European party in power.
Director of the International Institute for Middle East and Balkan Studies (IFIMES) Zijad Bećirović said that Bosnia and Montenegro have maintained a clear European course, stating that Ibrahimović is the minister who is least in front of the cameras, "which many hold against him."
